Bevk Perović Arhitekti
Shortly after founding their architectural practice in Ljubljana in 1997, Vasa J. Perović (left) and Matija Bevk received international attention for their work and went on to receive numerous prizes. They started out focusing mainly on single-family homes and apartment buildings. Together with their international team of ten, they have since won competitions all over Europe for projects such as the extension of the Schauspielhaus in Ljubljana and a residential tower at Nordbahnhof in Vienna. The Islamic Religious and Cultural Centre in Ljubljana (page 30) illustrates their approach to the spatial programme, sustainability aspects, and social context in a contemporary architectural and material language.
