The small architectural practice founded by José Selgas (*1965) and Luísa Cano (*1965) in 1998 is located in a residential district in the north of Madrid. The two architects built their office as a single-space extension to a private house integrated at shoulder height. The roof consists of curved perspex that permits a view of the sky and also overlooks the grassed area of the garden. As with all their projects, the natural environment is the focus of the design, together with surprisingly simple details and bright colours. selgascano seek a form of beauty that can be appreciated by lay people. They became internationally known with their Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, using coloured plastic film.
