Katharina Bayer and Markus Zilker founded their architecture firm in Vienna in 2006, with Markus Pendlmayr joining as a partner in 2018. Einszueins specializes primarily in residential construction projects of various sizes. Early in the design process, they engage in consultations with users and clients, often working with building groups or cooperatives. The Einszueins team sees this participatory approach and in-depth dialogue with stakeholders as the basis for crafting holistic concepts and sustainable, integrative architecture. Renewable building materials, circular design principles, and the sustainable transformation of existing buildings are essential cornerstones of Einszueins’s work. They aim to help meet climate targets by designing residential buildings that are carbon neutral and largely made from recyclable materials.
