Glazed Student Housing Complex

Planning office Lars Gitz Architects and project developer BaseCamp Student are responsible for the construction of a student residence in the north of Copenhagen, BaseCamp Lyngby. Scandinavian glass processor Glaseksperten also contributed to
the project. The ventilated curtain wall is insulated with recycled rock wool and clad with slabs of pressed volcanic basalt rock from Rockpanel. The aluminium triple-glazing windows are also part of the overall concept. The communal areas are glazed down to floor level to allow as much daylight as possible to enter the interior even in winter. Depending on heat input and light incidence, solar control glass, heat insulation glass or clear glass with varying coatings and thicknesses were used. The metal-free warm edge spacer system Super Spacer T-Spacer Premium Plus from Edgetech, which is used in various widths, helps to avoid thermal bridges and optimise the heat transfer coefficient.
