A large rainwater spout drains the roof and feeds the cistern of the environmental education centre. The drained rainwater is used to irrigate the educational garden.
The limestone blocks used for the exterior and interior walls are up to 2 m long and 32 cm wide. They were sourced from a quarry in the vicinity of Montpellier.
The wickerwork mats allow the Toue Cabanée to merge with its natural surroundings. The large window openings of the two gable facades permit a view through the interior to the other side.
