"Smoke wafting among the trees"—that's how the Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa/ SANAA describe the idea behind their design. And indeed, the fragile structure seems to dissolve into thin air. An extremely thin roof rests on slender stainless steel supports, freely distributed throughout the space. Its supporting structure, made of plywood, is clad in highly polished aluminium and sweeps up to the treetops or hovers just above the ground.
