Office Building in Ferrara

With its new administrative headquarters by Mario Cucinella Architects, the regional environmental agency ARPAE (Agenzia Regionale per la Prevenzione e l'Ambiente) in Ferrara is demonstrating that energy-efficient buildings can be realised without highly complex building services if suitably designed. In order to achieve a better orientation towards the sun, the single-storey building is positioned diagonally on the property without reflecting the lines of the neighbouring existing agency building or the arterial road alongside the property.
