Timber is coming to play an even greater role in building construction today. In the sports hall in Saragans, the sensual quality of the wood is contrasted with the clear form of the design. The unusual timber roof struture of the Klosterhavet National Park visitors centre helps to create an exciting internal space; while the striking wooden interior of the autobahn church in Siegerland contains large-scale "furnishings" in composite wood board with plug-in connections.
