Fabulous Festivals in Montreal, Canada.

under the ball ribbon

The fifth anniversary of Aires Libres, where pedestrians take possession of the streets transforming them into an art scene, and the thirtieth anniversary of the creation of Montreal's Gay Village will go with a fabulous flounce this year in the form of some impressive landscape interventions and decorations that will make quite a statement and encourage the party go with a real swing. The landscape design is by Claude Cormier who has made many memorable installations in the Montreal Landscape. We will take another look at his work in today's second post. At each end of the pedestrian artery is a stairway designed by the duo Mélissa Mongiat and Mouna Andraos. Visitors will climb the stairs up to an improvised belvedere for a view over the street and the pink ball ribbon. Whilst there, a camera will snap them and save the image to the Aires Libres website where visitors can download it later. Those should be interesting to browse!
