Internet Box: Mobile Spaceor Walk-In Furniture
The box was designed as a mobile minimal space for the Internet presentation of a school-book publisher at trade fairs and other events. It consists of two interpenetrating volumes in wood and aluminium. The walk-in cubicle has three cut-out sections. The first folds down to form a seat; the second affords a view out; and the third houses an aluminium casing for the computer. With overall dimensions of 140 x 83 x 202 cm, the entire construction has a weight of 70 kg. A folding mechanism allows the box to be reduced to half its height for transportation, and two poles at the sides enable it to be carried by two persons like a sedan chair. The construction consists of a timber framework and plywood infill panels with a rigid-foamed core.
