"Mobiles" - Communication Spaces for Dessau

Along a 7 km urban planning route from the Bauhaus to the banks of the River Mulde, 24 stations have been set up where the history and future development of Dessau are being shown. Four wagons have been built that resemble mobile site huts. They comprise an info-box, a meeting box, a black box and an office box, which can be moved to the various stations along the route. The simple detailing and translucent walls lend the wagons an open workshop character, which is complemented by birch-plywood floors and furniture. The steel-frame construction, with acrylic-plastic cellular infill panels, is welded to a girder grid fixed on the bogies of disused wagons. Louvre elements to the sides, dampers and a ridge outlet allow adequate ventilation.
