Station Lift in Salzburg
The lowering of this local railway terminus forms part of a more extensive scheme to integrate the various transport facilities of the city. The completely transparent lift structure forms the centre of the station and connects the platform on the second basement level with the first basement level, where passengers change between buses, trains and the underground car parking areas. The glazed shaft enclosing the glass lift cabin rises through a 5 x 5 m opening in the floor. The sheets of glass are point fixed to the steel structure. Two staircases and two escalators provide additional links with the platform. Outside service hours, frameless glass sliding doors prevent access to the lower level.
