CHAYR – A different kind of hayride

The material is called Ekolithos, and it is manufactured by cmf greentech. Here, the designers from Henry & Co. have used it for their comfortable stool known as CHAYR. Their design looks back on a rural idyll, on times when bales of hay served as seating. Nowadays, this is a rare occurrence as the hay, once mown and dried, is baled and immediately wrapped in plastic.

All the same, CHAYR allows us to enjoy an old rural tradition – with a clean conscience, because Ekolithos is environmentally friendly. It is made of easily renewable resources. The frame is beech, and the cushion is of hay and grass. Whether the stool has that delicious smell of hay is another question.
