John Robertson Architects

“Contextual civic modernism” is the guiding principle of this London-based architectural practice, which was founded in 1993 and is still led by John Robertson today. One of the focal points of the practice is the refurbishment of 20th century heritage buildings in the British capital, which always begins with an in-depth examination of the existing building fabric. Major projects include the facade renovation of the former Daily Express Building on Fleet Street and the refurbishment of Bracken House in the City of London, which is once again the headquarters of the Financial Times. John Robertson is particularly interested in facade planning, as exemplified by the renovation of Great Arthur House at the Golden Lane state, which received a RIBA National Award in 2019.
