Sauna with Green Roof

The sauna landscape of a hotel in Stromberg near Bad Kreuznach has a new outdoor facility. This involved converting a 400 m² large green roof into an intensively used roof garden by using the Firestone RubberGard EPDM membrane. During the conversion work, the extensive greenery was first removed completely and the sole existing cross joint sealed. An EPDM roofing membrane from the same manufacturer had already been used for the extensive greening carried out in 2012. Now, 200 m² of the roof area has been covered with gravel, 120 m² given a green roof and 80 m² converted into a terrace with a tiled covering. In order to be able to absorb the increased loads, the columns under the concrete ceiling had to be reinforced.
