Schedlberg Renovation by Peter Haimerl in the Bavarian Forest

How can a dying building tradition be saved? Munich architect Peter Haimerl has some experience in this area. One of his most spectacular interventions is the renovation of a centuries-old traditional farmhouse located near Arnbruck in the Bavarian Forest: the house at Schedlberg. The architect has complemented the dilapidated remains of the wooden construction with glass and concrete − the traces of history remain visible and can be discerned from the structure of the house as well as from the procedures that have been carried out.

A video by Rainer Taepper presents the house as an expressive monument on the verge of the forest. The book „Schedlberg“ bei Edition Detail, portrays the building in photos, texts and plans.
