Aluminium Fire Doors
In the youth hostel in Bayreuth designed by Lava – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture, fire and smoke protection elements from Hörmann provide the necessary fire protection. Four T60 tubular frame elements form the spatial separation between the 2-storey central atrium and the guest room tracts. Each single-leaf connecting door is flanked by two fixed door leaves. The glazed segments allow visual references and enable light to enter into the corridors. All the doors are equipped with slide-rail overhead door-closers, arrest systems and rectangular glazing strips. Due to the heavy weight of the glass, the opening leaves are supported by three 3-part hinges that can be adjusted three-dimensionally, making it easy to balance the door. The aluminium and powder-coated components in anthracite contrast with the bright and flowing building design.
