A bee or not a bee: Molecular Sciences Building, Melbourn Australia by Lyons Architects.

Bees working away in their hive is not a bad metaphor for the long hours a typical research scientist puts in. The new Molecular Sciences Building at La Trobe University, Melbourn, Australia, designed by Lyons Architects, seems to acknowledge this notion by providing some exciting accommodation in the form of ...well a honeycomb!

The six storey building provides teaching and research accommodation for the fearless scientists, in a brave architectural way. The building is very exciting and is not for the faint hearted. It is no doubt hoped that the extraordinary creativity in the architecture will rub-off like pollen on all that come in contact with it.
