A Critical View: Hotel Puerta América in Madrid - A Designers' Jamboree

The list of architects involved in the fit-out of the Hotel Puerta América reads like a Who’s Who of architecture: Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel and David Chipperfield to name but a few. Each of the 19 architects associated was given a complete storey to design; while the basic layout and room sizes were pre-determined, the designers were allowed total freedom in their design concepts.
