A mobile hotel concept: hotel rooms to go

HIVE-INN mobile hotel concept by OVAOn the occasion of the Radical Innovation Awards 2014, OVA studio recently introduced their submission to the competition. The theme is a mobile hotel room that can 'travel'; in other words, a room to go. With the HIVE-INN mobile hotel concept, OVA's aim was to create the greatest possible degree of flexibility and mobility. This led them to develop a reasonably priced container system, for containers are easy to transport and, like Lego pieces, can be stacked and extended in modular fashion. Furnished containers could simply accompany travellers and be sent to their destination, or be used on location as showroom or advertising space for companies. The containers could also be rented out for these purposes. The basic structure is based on a steel grid. Each container can be lifted with a crane and slid into its predetermined space in the interlocking system. The hotel could become either bigger or smaller according to demand. With respect to the Hotel HIVE-INN, OVA Studio designed two sample container spaces for Ferrari and Alexander McQueen respectively. OVA's designs did not make it to the second stage of the Radical Innovation Awards 2014 competition. mobiles-hotelkonzept-2 mobiles-hotelkonzept-3 mobiles-hotelkonzept-4 mobiles-hotelkonzept-5 mobiles-hotelkonzept-6 mobiles-hotelkonzept-7 mobiles-hotelkonzept-8 mobiles-hotelkonzept-9 mobiles-hotelkonzept-10 mobiles-hotelkonzept-11 mobiles-hotelkonzept-12 Print mobiles-hotelkonzept-14 mobiles-hotelkonzept-15 mobiles-hotelkonzept-16 mobiles-hotelkonzept-17
