A Second Look: Genter Strasse Housing Development in Munich

The 1972 Munich apartment building Genter Street from Otto Steidle, Doris Thut and Ralph Thut is firmly anchored in the architecture of its time, in particular because of the neutral structures from industrially finished concrete elements. Despite this, it also has a certain timeless air about it, not least because many of the topics addressed at the time are being discussed again today. In light of demographic changes, alterable blueprints, participation and community are just as contemporary as simple, industrial yet customisable architectural solutions.
