A Villa with a Bright Clinker Facade by Gima

For the facade they chose a light Edelbrand clinker in the colour Elva FK from Gima. The different formats were bricked in a wild pattern. Special charcoal saltglazed firing gives the clinker an iridescent surface with light ochre and red tones. The 2 cm-thick horizontal joints between the narrow clinkers jump back slightly, emphasising the horizontal and creating a depth effect. In addition, Gima supplied several prefabricated parts which, among other things, serve as lintels. With a length of up to 2 m, they allow large openings in the facade without additional supports. The shaped bricks have dovetail-shaped recesses at the joint between the brick attachment and the concrete that ensure the mechanical bond to the reinforced concrete core.
