Activation of Building Components - an old Idea and its growing application today
The catalyst for the application of thermally active building systems today is the demand for both cost and energy efficient heating and cooling systems, predominantly in the mid-range of performance, appropriate for office buildings and other similar constructions. This is essentially achieved by thermally activated building elements which maintain surface temperatures only slightly higher or lower than those of the surrounding spaces, thereby greatly minimising energy consumption levels.
