American designer duo Christopher Yamane and Matthew Johnson – also known as Superduperstudio – have designed the new Saturn glasses. Although these glasses lack the traditional stem, their unusual shape will add an elegant touch to any festive table. If a glass should be tipped over during a heated debate, no problem. It will rest gently on its edge, safeguarding the contents within. The designers turned to traditional Italian glass-blowing techniques, combined with Scandinavian craftsmanship, for the manufacture of the Saturn. The glasses are first shaped by hand before being blown into their final form. Another bonus, especially for those with limited cupboard space: these glasses can easily be stacked.
