An Ergonomic Whiz-Kid: oyo by aeris

What’s more, oyo, created by designer Martin Ballendat for Munich’s aeris enterprise, is attractive. Although its appearance has nothing of the usual contrived ‘healthy’ look we know so well, it supports the philosophy perfectly.  All in one, oyo is a rocking chair, cantilever chair and saddle chair with a back. It can be used anywhere: for guests or clients as a visitor’s chair, or as conference chairs for the team. It offers good balance for both sitting and rocking: the undulant shell shape with its integrated backrest tempts us to relax. However, the chair inspires frequent position changes. Whether we lean back or rock animatedly, this chair is a whiz-kid that feels at home in the office or even as dining-room seating. Since it was introduced, the chair has won many distinctions. For example, it is a nominee for the 2016 German Design Award, has won the 2016 Iconic Awards Interior Innovation prize and the renowned iF Design Award, which was awarded this week within the framework of Munich Creative Business Week. You can try out this multitalented chair during Germany’s biggest design event under the activities concerning Universal Design.  The steel frame is available in glossy chrome, and the seat is covered in Nexus- the 3D woven structure by Camira. The chair comes in the colours graphite, kiwi, red, pacific, sandstone and orange.
