At one with nature: Juvet Landscape Hotel by Jensen Skodvin Architects.

Today seems like an excellent day to discuss what modern Norway is rightly famous for: the relationship of its people and buildings to its fantastic and dramatic landscape.
The project featured is the Juvet Landscape Hotel by Jensen Skodvin Architects. It was built in 2008 to universal acclaim.
Each hotel room is basically a small detached house with one or two of the walls constructed in full height glazing. Some of the individual buildings are slightly odd shapes which gives a charming, almost haphazard impression. There however, is nothing haphazard about this project. The intimate relationship each house has with the landscape through its views, its materials and its sighting on the topography of the land, is quite remarkable. The architecture is subtle and yet very powerful.
