Bank of America Tower

The Bank of America Tower is the second tallest skyscraper in New York, after the Empire State Building. Located very close to Time Square, opposite Bryant Park, the construction is expected to be completed in summer 2009. It is the first office tower in the USA to be nominated for a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification. This highest category of the American Green Building Rating System is attained by implementing an energy- and resource-saving construction process: using concrete containing a high proportion of recycled material and using building materials that are predominantly obtained locally, for instance. Further important features include carefully coordinated technology for energy generation and ventilation, as well as for water management. The workplace quality offered by the office tower is extraordinarily high for US standards thanks to an open office design and floor-to-ceiling glazing.
