Bernie Grant Arts Centre in London

Adjaye, London, Bernie-Grand

Designed by award winning architect David Adjaye, the Bernie Grant Arts Centre is the latest addition to London’s cultural arts scene. The purpose built multi-arts centre 340 seat space, 70 seat studio/rehearsal space, café, workspaces and open spaces will become a home for interdisciplinary arts, spoken word, dance, theatre, courses, master classes and more.

The £15 million building is inspired by the vision and dedication of the late Bernie Grant MP who imagined a space with a national reputation for quality and innovation, and one that is rooted in Tottenham, London, one of the UK’s most multicultural areas.

David Adjaye, whose other work includes the Denver’s Museum of Contemporary Art and the Idea Store in London, won the RIBA award in 2005, the Noble Peace Centre in Oslo and homes for Ewan McGregor and Chris Ofili.

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre is funded by the Millennium Commission, London Development Agency, European Regional Development Fund, Arts Council of England and London Borough of Haringey.
