Biocide-free Thermal Insulation Composite by Quick-mix

Mineralwool plaster boards and Lamella-II insulation boards were used, both 140 mm thick. For the finishing coat, the architects and clients opted for the Hydrocon facade system, which consists of the mineral Hydrocon high-grade plaster and the silicate facade paint Hydrocon HC 425. One particular challenge was the insulation of the west side of the 30 m-high tower and the fascia of the hall and tower, as these projecting surfaces were located outside the solid concrete structure and consisted of an open steel construction or trapezoidal sheets. The combination of a mineral-wool insulation board and Siniat’s Bluclad fibre cement board was used as the carrier board on the vertical fascia end faces and the trapezoidal sheetmetal construction of the tower, and Hydropanel fibre cement boards were used as the plaster carrier on the soffits of the cantilevered fascia.
