Between work and leisure time

kadawittfeldarchitektur has designed a 400 m² bistro in the Salzburg-Urstein Knowledge Park that offers breakfast and lunch, as well as work areas. Space-defining furniture creates subtle zoning and enables multifunctional use. Mirrored ceiling panels reflect the various activities back into the room and, thanks to their micro-perforated surface and underlying insulation, also serve as acoustic panels.

Green spaces
Despite the different uses, a uniform overall impression is created thanks to the design, colour and material concept. One example of this is the green band, which is made of structured, coloured wood wool panels. This envelops the interior while blending into an adjacent green courtyard. The plant aquarium at the entrance has rounded corners like the furniture and also fits in with the floral theme. Another central element is the large seating area with flexible individual tables arranged against one of the large glass facades.

Design grounding
Overall, the interior is characterised by earthy and green tones. Natural materials, such as wood and leather, are combined with marble composite surfaces, brass elements, and reflective ceiling sails to create an elegant atmosphere. Plants add further life to the space. The furniture supports the design's versatility. Examples include counter furniture for the bar, an elongated raised table that serves as a meeting place for communication, and semi-circular seating alcoves that provide a retreat with a view of the green inner courtyard.
