Cemetery in Galicia

Finisterre – land's end, or the end of the world: on this steep cape on the Atlantic coast of Spain, a cemetery has been built, consisting of a series of hollow granite cubes laid out along a coastal path. The architecture is as elemental as the landscape itself. Based on an old tradition, the floors, walls and ceilings of the chambers consist of 20-cm-thick granite slabs with no more than a thin layer of mortar to bond them together.
