Chapel in Tarnów, Poland

The chapel on the shore of the Vistula, 60 kilometers southeast of Warsaw, owes its existence to a private investor. This author – who is relatively famous in Poland – wanted to prevent the building of a beach bar in this idyllic natural setting, something which has happened in other areas. Instead he wanted to maintain this piece of the shoreline as a place of tranquility and meditation, as well as bringing together people from the community. As the building is set to be erected by unskilled workers from the village, the architects chose a wood construction, which works without complicated details. The below photos illustrate the construction process.
