Children's Day-Care Centre in Salzburg

The new timber construction nestles like a warm covering over the sports and swim centre of the school complex, which dates from the 1970´s. The minimal weight of the timber made it a particularly appropriate choice of construction material. The raising of the sports hall was also economically viable, in relation to energy consumption, as the highly insulated construction with its controlled ventilation system consumed no more energy than had been previously been lost as heat escaping from the original roof of the sports hall.
