Church and Parish Hall in Kongsvinger
To provide a heterogeneous group of Catholic immigrants in Kongsvinger with a place to meet and worship, a new church and parish hall were built. The two volumes are separated by an enclosed courtyard. All three functional elements are united by a common facade, which consists of simple sandstone walling. Clerestory strips in the raised part of the flat pine roof structure serve to illuminate the central area of the church, which is flanked by narrow aisles. Although in a similar form of construction, the parish hall has no roof light and is distinctly lower in height.
