Clarity in design: Flow radio by Philip Wong for Lexon.

The recipient of a red dot design award, this sleek, minimalist radio by Philip Wong, has the makings of a design classic. Wong has been a designer for Lexon since 2012. The design is interesting in that it appears that it is reduced to the absolute essentials, but there is more to it than that. Through the transparent case, one sees just the speaker and a coloured box from which the controls protrude. But of course, there are the electronic components, battery and wiring that are all suppressed in design terms, creating an illusion of absolute simplicity. The radio comes in three colour variations.
