Cleverly Folded: A Table Frame for Every Dish by joval

Photo: joval
The fact is that the new Helios table frame has been distinguished with the Iconic Award 2016 Interior Innovation by the German Design Council. It can currently be seen from the 18th of January at the imm Internationale Möbelmesse (International Furniture Fair) in Cologne. What makes this design so extraordinary is that its vertically foldable tubular steel frame can be adjusted to fit the width and shape of any tabletop.
The design of the legs means that Helios offers a lot of legroom for those sitting at the table. What’s more, the frame can easily and quickly be joined to many different tabletops. Helios comes in two surfaces: fine-grained powder varnish or glossy chrome. It can be used either as an attractive permanent or an ad hoc table solution in any living space.
Helios was developed by Munich designer Jonas Schröder for his young label joval. Along with Helios, Schröder will present other new creations, including the bench known as Beos, which takes up the shape and mobility concept of Helios. Both pieces are available in various sizes and surfaces (standard: linoleum). Like all joval’s products, these are manufactured exclusively in Germany. To see a film, click here.
