Coloured Glass - Manufacture, Processing, Planning

There is a vast range of coloured glass available today offering a huge variety of technical and visual properties. In addition to aesthetic qualities, architects must also consider the technical feasibility of these products: to what extent do they fulfil the constructional and physical requirements of the situation? This article presents, by way of example, pigmented, coated, printed and laminated glass products. Glass as a constructional material spans the range between transparent and translucent skins to autonomous, changeable architectural vehicles with the integration of coloured LEDs at the edge of laminated safety glass or double glazing.
