Dancing Dragons twin towers by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture.

The Yongsan Business District in Seoul has no intention of being eclipsed by any other Asian CBD. Perhaps it is the fear of eclipse itself that is driving the procurement of some impressive landmark buildings in the city. I featured BIG's design for a residential complex a couple of weeks ago, today, it is the turn for a closer look at the evocatively named Dancing Dragons twin towers, designed by the Chicago based outfit Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. The towers and are 450 and 390m tall and are obviously not identical. However, between them, they develop an architectural language, mainly through the detail of the cladding as well as the way the volumes are sculpted. As is traditional with most Asian towers there is a retail podium at the bottom of the tower leading to subterranean retail complex. elevation of towers   birds eye view internal atrium entrance detail cladding detail
