DETAIL Prize Jury 2011

Maruo Gil-Fournier Esquerra is a partner of the young estudio SIC (formerly estudio fam) architectural office in Madrid. He studied architecture at the School of Architecture in Madrid. Two years ago, the estudio SIC won the DETAIL Prize 2009 for the memorial commemorating the victims of the terror attack in the Spanish capital on March 11, 2004.
Harry Gugger is the founder of Harry Gugger Studio in Basel. In addition to working as an architect, he is a professor at the EPFL in Lausanne and has taught at the College of Architecture, Building and Construction in Weimar. Harry Gugger was formerly a partner at the Herzog & de Meuron architectural office and participated in renowned international projects such as the Tate Mondern, London, and the CaixaForum, Madrid.
Together with Oliver Thill, André Kempe is co-founder of Atelier Kempe Thill architect and planners in Rotterdam. The architect has lectured at the Technical University Delft and the Academy van Bauwkunst in Rotterdam and Arnhem. André Kempe studied Architecture at the Technical University Dresden and engaged in urban planning studies in Paris and Tokyo.
Regine Leibinger, professor of building construction and design at the Technical University Berlin, founded the Barkow Leibinger architectural office with Frank Barkow in 1993. As a visiting professor, he has taught at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and Harvard University. The architect received her master’s degree at the Technical University in Berlin.
Christian Schittich is the editor-in-chief of DETAIL and has written and edited numerous books and articles on architecture and construction. Christian Schittich studied architecture at the Technical University Munich.
