An Fonteyne

An Fonteyne, born in 1971 in Ostend (Belgium), graduated from Ghent University in 1994. She worked at DKV Architects in Rotterdam and David Chipperfield Architects in London before establishing noAarchitecten with Jitse van den Berg and Philippe Viérin in 1999. She is a member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium, section Arts, and currently teaches at ETH Zurich. She regularly serves in international competition and award juries and lectures at international architecture schools and institutions.

Marc Frohn

Marc Frohn heads the office FAR frohn&rojas, which operates in a network between Berlin and Santiago de Chile. He founded the office in 2004 together with Mario Rojas Toledo. In addition to his practice, he is continuously involved in teaching and research: as a visiting professor at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles, at the Royal College of Art in London and, since 2014, at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where he holds the Chair of Space & Design.

Sandra Hofmeister

Sandra Hofmeister is editor-in-chief of DETAIL and a board member of DETAIL Business Information GmbH. Her journalistic work comprises a large number of texts, primarily on the topics of architecture and design, which have been published in German and English-language books, magazines and daily newspapers. After studying art history in Berlin, she earned her doctorate at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2006. In addition to her work as a moderator und author, Sandra Hofmeister was editor-in-chief of the German-language version of Domus from 2012 to 2015, and coordinated the launch of the lincensed magazine.

She currently teaches at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Her most recent publications include the volume “Our Bauhaus Heritage / Unser Bauhaus Erbe” (Edition DETAIL, 2019).

Francesca Torzo

The Italian architect has run her small, dedicated studio in Genoa since 2008, designing building projects in Europe and China as well as art installations, furniture, and everyday objects. Teaching and academic research, as well as close collaboration with craftsmen, are important influences in her work. Francesca Torzo studied architecture in Delft, Barcelona, Mendrisio, and Venice, then worked with Peter Zumthor, among others.

She has been a professor at Bergen School of Architecture since 2017 and at Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, one year after appointed Chairman of Marten Van Severen Foundation in Gent . Torzo was represented at  the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale with her extension of Kunsthalle Z33 in Hasselt, that was a recipient of the International Piranesi Award in 2018,  of the Premio Italiano di Architettura  and Moira Gemill Prize for Emerging Architecture in 2020, and is among the awarded five finalists of the Mies van der Rohe Award 2022.

Markus Zilker

Markus Zilker is the founder and partner of einszueins architecture. He studied architecture at the TU Vienna and ETSA Sevilla. From 2006-2015 he taught design for prospective master builders at the Nimmerrichter courses and passed the master builder exam in 2009 and the civil engineer exam in 2016. In addition to many years of experience in the planning and execution of housing projects of various scales, he has further training in the field of mediation and community building.

Markus Zilker is a founding member of the "Initiative für gemeinschaftliches Bauen und Wohnen" as well as of the "Wohnprojekt Wien", a building group project that was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Architecture and Sustainability in 2014. Markus Zilker also has many years of experience in dealing with small and large group processes, from process design and communication to moderating workshops and working groups. As an expert on building groups and planning participation, he has lectured nationally and internationally at symposia, workshops and conferences.
