Dome skylights of ACRYSMART® glass – HPF Minerals – Quarzwerke Gruppe

Acrylic glass functionalised with the plastic additive ACRYSMART® changes its trans-mittance for light and solar radiation permeability depending on the temperature. On hot summer days, the acrylic glass changes from an transparent state (OFF) to a milky-white state (ON). By backscattering the sunlight, the solar energy input in the ON state is lowered and the risk of overheating is reduced. At lower temperatures, the plastic glass again becomes transparent (OFF). Natural daylight is used efficiently.
