FABRICATE 2017: Registration is now open

FABRICATE 2017, Stuttgart, Digitales Entwerfen, Digitale Fertigung
The conference keynote speakers include Monica Ponce de Leon (Architect and Dean of the School of Architecture at Princeton University), Carl Bass (President and CEO of Autodesk), Kengo Kuma (Architect and Professor of Architecture at the University of Tokyo) and Antoine Picon (Professor of History in Architecture and Technology at Harvard Graduate School of Design). Jenny Sabin (Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at Cornell University) will participate in the conference as session chair, along with Philip Yuan (Professor of Architecture at Tongji University and Council member of the Architectural Society of China), Jan Knippers (Partner and co-founder of Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering and director of the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design at University of Stuttgart) and Martin Bechthold (Professor of Architectural Technology at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and co-director of the GSD’s Doctor of Design Program).
The Call for Work for FABRICATE 2017 at University of Stuttgart received over 250 submissions from 45 countries coming from leading institutions and practices. These include (amongst others) The Bartlett School of Architecture of University College London, Institute for Computational Design and Construction of University of Stuttgart, Architectural Association School of Architecture, Aarhus School of Architecture, Centre for Information Technology and Architecture (CITA), InnoChain ETN network, University of Michigan, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Graduate School of Design of Harvard University, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, University of Innsbruck, Princeton University, FabLab, TU Graz as well as Zaha Hadid Architects, AKT II (Adams Kara Taylor), Amanda Levete Architects, Foster + Partners, Bollinger+Grohmann, Buro Happold, One to One, designtoproduction. The best 32 submissions will be featured in the supporting peer reviewed publication and of those 16 will present their research and work at the conference.
Registration for next year’s FABRICATE starts with the “Early Bird” offer, a reduced ticket rate of 359,- EUR (+fees), available until the end of the year. Regular Professional Tickets, sold as of 1 January 2017, cost 459,- EUR. Students can purchase a ticket for 159,- EUR and must present their student ID upon registration at the event. FABRICATE 2017 also offers a discount ticket rate for combined registration at ACADIA 2016 and FABRICATE 2017 for 299,- EUR. If you attended ACADIA 2016 and would like to receive the discount, you can contact the organizers at fabricate17@icd.uni-stuttgart.de. The offer is valid until 31 December 2016.
