Fire Protection in Multi-Storey Timber Construction

When using timber as a construction material one immediately considers fire protection. Timber constructions can, when correctly detailed and planned, achieve the identical fire safety standards as massive constructions and in fact exceed those of steel buildings. New possibilities for the application of timber construction have been achieved by the MBO 2002 together with the M-HFHHolzR. Any residue reservations on the part of building authorities or fire departments concerning this type of construction can largely be done away with by theoretical and experimental analysis.
