Flexible Composite Materials for the Roof by Serge Ferrari

The roof of the football stadium consists of 46 segments delimited by steel arches, which were fitted with Flexlight Xtrem TX30-IV. They are braced by a system of steel cables attached to pillars in the outer wall. The curved roof structure is intended to be reminiscent of the meanders of the Don River, and protects all four grandstands from snow and rain. Flexlight Xtrem TX30-IV is a flexible composite material. The fabric is prestressed from all sides and is therefore dimensionally stable.
