Flush-floor Glass Facade System

High above Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, Stücheli Architekten from Zurich have designed ten residences as tower-like villas for the Bürgenstock Resort. Separated from each other by 1.70 m-narrow canyons, they offer 538 to 814 m2 of space on five floors. The villas are entered via a private entrance courtyard, from where the path leads to the 3 m-high living room with full glazing or, in the light of a roof window, to the dining, sleeping or wellness floor below. The -facade consists of a stone shell of limestone and large-area Air-Lux window systems. Air-Lux is a floor- and ceiling-flush glass facade system with large sliding windows. It can be individually adapted to any building and integrated into the building envelope without thresholds. Air-Lux is the world’s only sliding window with an air-assisted seal.
