From a Concrete Construction to a Villa

Foto: Hersteller
White is the dominant colour of a villa on Ibiza created by architect Laurence Sonck from a ruined concrete structure. The white comes from the solid surface material Avonite. Sonck combined Avonite Acrylic Solid Surface and wood. He adapted the window frames to compensate for the impractical column distribution. The Avonite window frames protrude from the wall by between 15 and 20 cm and stand out from the usual construction methods of the region. The Avonite panels hang on invisibly attached strips. The colour Snowfall by Avonite largely dominates the interior – as a floor covering in the bathrooms and on the stairs, and is also used to conceal the skirting boards.
