Furniture Factory in Princes Risborough

The white steel structure of this restrained pavilion near London extends out beyond the enclosing walls and seems to dissolve into the wooded surroundings. One face of the production hall is glazed, affording a view out to the landscape. The opaque areas of the facade are economically clad with sheet steel. Service installations and production facilities are located on the opposite side of the hall. A glazed roof strip allows light to penetrate to the interior. The walls and roof are heavily insulated and finished internally with perforated cladding to minimize sound emissions externally and to reduce the level of noise disturbance in the hall. Wood waste from the production process is used to generate energy.
