Greener than green: Eco resort by Baharash Architecture

The Oasis Eco Resort, one of many green projects planned by Baharash Architecture, is to be realised in collaboration with a group of entrepreneurs seeking to foster greener economics. The measure is to be completed by 2020.
Almost 15,000 square metres of solar panels, organised into the outline of a star that will mark the resort off from the surrounding desert, are to fulfil its entire energy requirements. According to Baharash Bagherian, designer and founder of the London-based architecture firm, the fact that the desert retreat spot can be supplied with water from a deep well was decisive in pursuing the project.
Additional eco-friendly measures such as on-site waste water recycling and waste management and a zero emission zone likewise play a role in the green plans; at the same time, the resort will also be employing wildlife biologists and conservation staff. A spring is to be located at the heart of the oasis to have a cooling effect in the hot zone, and will be surrounded by restaurants, a fitness centre and interconnecting suites, all provided with a view of the spring at their centre.
