Staying with houses in Brisbane for today the 'H' House dates from five or six years ago. I illustrate it here as an interesting contrast to today's other post - Highgate Hill. The H house seems to owe its inspiration to California or at the very least the ocean.
Donovan Hill has tried to use the basic architectural features of the house to provide expression, rather than rely on the equipment or other technological frills that have become de-rigour for high-end residential properties. That however, does not mean to say that modesty has been shown. Strong forms give it a robust presence, and give the former industrial context an exotic feel.
