Hand-formed glass object

This is an object made of glass that is both heavy and light. With the Massicci collection, Marco Zito has created a washbasin for Agape that reinterprets the physical presence of glass. The collection is made of solid cast glass rather than blown glass, deliberately breaking with conventional manufacturing techniques.

The glass is melted at over 1200°C and poured into precise moulds, where it solidifies into an 18-kilogram body that absorbs and refracts light rather than reflecting it. This creates a velvety, faceted surface that produces ever-changing reflections, giving the material an unexpected depth. 

The Massicci model is available with clear or ochre-coloured glass. Its compact geometry is designed for surface mounting, and it can be combined with fittings from the Agape system. Depending on the version, the thickness of the glass varies, enabling the depth and light effect to be specifically controlled. The material and shape adhere to a specific manufacturing process that is aligned with Agape's modular bathroom furniture ranges. NG
